Project description
As was the case in the previous years (2011-2017) T.M.C Asser Instituut and the Special Tribunal for Lebanon will continue their cooperation in the context of the Lebanon Lecture Series.
The Special Tribunal for Lebanon has commissioned the Institute for a periode of 3 years (2018-2021) to assist in the refining and implementation of an Inter – University Programme on International Criminal Law and Procedure, and to deliver this programme from its location in The Hague, via live streaming to Lebanese undergraduate students gathered at a location in Beirut. The lecture series will be delivered on a weekly basis in the period of November 2018 to June 2019.
The program includes the same components as in the previous year: 17 lectures, 14 of which will be taught via video streaming and 3 in person, the final exam, the graduation ceremony and two visits to the Netherlands.
Eleven universities from Lebanon participate in this project: American University of Science and Technology (AUST), Beirut Arab University (BAU), Notre Dame University (NDU), Université La Sagesse (ULS), Université Libanaise (UL), Université Saint-Esprit de Kaslik (USEK), Université Saint-Joseph (USJ), the American University of Beirut (AUB), Lebanese American University (LAU), the Academic University College for Non-Violence and Human Rights (AUNOHR), the Islamic University of Lebanon (IUL).
