EU Trade and Investment Policy (EUTIP)
Apr 1, 2017 - Mar 31, 2021
Project description
This project will foster interdisciplinary research into the evolving international trade policy of the European Union (EU) with a view to create a significantly increased European knowledge base and research capacity on EU law and policy of the regulation of international trade through free trade agreements (FTAs) with third countries. It consists of 15 PhD research projects, which are supervised by academics of 11 partners with an interdisciplinary training programme covering the legal, political and economic foundations of EU trade and investment policy and an interdisciplinary and intersectoral programme of secondments involving 18 partner organisations.
The project is coordinated by the University of Birmingham. The Asser Institute is a partner organisation and hosted several early stage researchers in 2018 and 2019. The project is an Innovative Training Network (ITN), funded by the European Commission within the framework of its Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions.
