Eduardo Silva de Freitas is a PhD candidate at Erasmus University Rotterdam, specializing in litigation crowdfunding. He is also a junior researcher in private international law at the T.M.C. Asser Institute. Eduardo holds an LLB from Universidade do Vale do Itajaí, and two LLMs in Corporate and Commercial Law from the University of Sheffield, and International and European Business Law from KU Leuven.

During his PhD, he conducted research at the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for Procedural Law. Eduardo also has practical experience in private law from his internship and junior associate position at a law firm in Brazil. He has been a licensed attorney-at-law since 2018 and has contributed to courses on European Private International Law and research and writing skills at Erasmus University Rotterdam. In 2023, he attended the Winter Course and Directed Studies at The Hague Academy of International Law.
