Profile
Ahmed Ellaboudy is a Doctoral Researcher at the School of Law, Trinity College Dublin. His research focuses on the impact of the preventive justice model applied in contemporary counter-terrorism legislation on the scope and level of protection of property rights. Ahmed is a lawyer and legal researcher with over ten years of experience in strategic litigation and legal research in the MENA region. He has contributed to numerous research projects investigating constitutional developments and democratic transition in the region following the Arab Spring.
Ahmed’s scholarship focuses on the design and practice of emergency powers, counter-terrorism legislation, and fundamental rights protection. His research areas of interest include Comparative Constitutional Law, Constitutional Theory, Rule of Law, and Human Rights Law.
He holds two Master of Laws (LL.M) degrees—one in Human Rights Law from Central European University and another in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago.
