Mission Statement
Formerly "SSLASPA: The Society for the Study of Legal Aspects of Sport and Physical Activity"SRLA's membership represents a variety of professionals including, for example, practicing attorneys, university professors, administrators, athletic directors, and recreation professionals.
The organization's purpose is to further the study and dissemination of information regarding legal aspects of sport and recreation. The Association addresses legal aspects of sport and recreation within both the public and private sectors.
The objectives of SRLA include:
- To serve as a medium for academic growth and development through professional exchange.
- To provide service functions for SRLA members through conference presentations and research publications.
- To assist in the development of appropriate curricula content.
- To cooperate closely with allied national and international organizations in areas such as athletics, education, exercise, law, medicine, recreation, and sport.
- To network and provide a forum for discussion about the law.

The Journal of the Legal Aspects of Sport is the premier Journal of its kind presenting perspectives on legal issues in the sports law, management, business, recreation, and physical education fields.

The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport (ISSN: 10720316) is the official journal of the Sport & Recreation Law Association (SRLA), published two times per year (Winter & Summer).
The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport is indexed in SPORT Discuss, the Physical Education Index, and Hein Online.
Advertising included in the Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport is screened but acceptance of an advertisement does not necessarily imply SRLA endorsement of the products, services, or the view expressed. SRLA assumes no responsibility for and will not be liable for any claims made in advertisements.

SRLA Newsletter
The SRLA Newsletter provides SRLA updates, recent cases, article citations pertaining to sport and recreation law, book citations, and other items of interest to members of the Sport and Recreation Law Association.
The SRLA Newsletter is published by the Sport and Recreation Law Association 6 times per year. Beginning with the May/June 2006 issue, issues are now available online to paid SRLA members. In order to access the newsletter online members must receive the password from SRLA Executive Secretary Mary Myers by email. Current issues can be accessed below.
