EU Twinning Projects
The T.M.C. Asser Instituut (TMCAI) is registered as a full mandated body for the implementation of EU twinning projects. The Institute’s areas of intervention include public and private international law, European law and European sports law.
The purpose of Twinning projects is to strengthen the administrative capacity of public sector institutions and the transposition, implementation and enforcement of the EU legislation (acquis communautaire). Although Twinning projects are usually implemented by public administrations, the European Commission can mandate non-administrative institutions, such as the Asser Institute, to act on behalf of public administrations.
More information on Twinning, including the EC List of Mandated Bodies, is available here.
