About the Nexus

The Asser Nexus on Conflict and Crime is a website of the T.M.C. Asser Instituut in The Hague that collects and presents all the institute’s knowledge products – from publications to lectures and from trainings to databases – in the fields of international humanitarian law (IHL), international criminal law (ICL), transnational criminal law (TCL) and legal aspects of countering terrorism (LACT). We see that these four subfields are increasingly overlapping and interacting, leading to new fundamental questions as well as practical challenges. In view of their interconnectedness, it is not only interesting but in fact sensible to analyse these fields, not in isolation, but in concert. The Asser Nexus on Conflict and Crime aims to assist in that effort.
