This Lunch & Learn will analyse the major changes in the forthcoming third edition of the WADA Code, in the immediate aftermath of the World Conference on Doping and Sports in Johannesburg, South Africa (12-15 November 2013), where the new Code and its associated International Standards, due to come into force in 2015, were formally adopted after an extensive review process that started in late 2011.

The discussion will include a survey of the most important changes in the sanctioning regime, but will also address the technical aspects of doping control, such as amendments to the testing and laboratory analyses provisions, as well as issues related to the disciplinary proceedings and due process, including in subsequent CAS proceedings.

Antonio Rigozzi is the head of the sports arbitration practice at boutique law firm Lévy Kaufmann-Kohler in Geneva, and a professor of law at the University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where he teaches international arbitration and sports law, including anti-doping law. He is widely recognised as a leading sports lawyer and academic.
