Prof. Marc Maresceau
Marc Maresceau is Professor of EU law and institutions at Ghent University and holds an ad personam Jean Monnet Chair. He also teaches at University of Brussels (VUB) and College of Europe, Natolin. He is Director of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at Ghent University. He has held Visiting Chairs at many universities not just in Europe but also abroad. He has led important research projects on external relations of the EU often concentrating on EU bilateral relations and was consultant/academic expert for various projects of the European Commission in non-EU countries and for Phare projects. He has founded in 2008 an academic series studies in EU External Relations with Brill-Martinus Nijhoff. Recent or in print publications include studies on EU-Switzerland, EU-Turkey, EU-Liechtenstein, “mixed agreements”, the Brita judgment of the European Court of Justice, EU-Andorra, the history of the Jean Monnet Programme.
