Judge Prof. Geert de Baere
Geert De Baere is Judge at the General Court of the EU. Before that, he was Assistant Professor of international law and EU Law at the Faculty of Law and Senior Member of the Leuven Centre for Global Governance Studies, University of Leuven. He obtained his PhD from King’s College, Cambridge in 2007. His research interests include the legal organisation of EU external relations, the relationship between EU law and international law, comparative constitutional law, including comparative federalism, and the philosophy of EU law and international law. From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a référendaire in the chambers of Advocate General Sharpston at the Court of Justice of the EU. His publications include “Constitutional Principles of EU External Relations” (OUP) and “Federalism in the EU” with E. Cloots and S. Sottiaux (eds, Hart Publishing).
