Dr. Claudio Matera
Claudio Matera is Assistant Professor for the Chair of International and European Law and Governance at the University of Twente. His research focuses on EU external relations in the fields of Justice and Home Affairs and his publications address both substantive and institutional issues. He is a member of ECLAN, an Associate Editor of European Papers and a member of the Editorial Board of Questions of International Law. Prior to joining the University of Twente in 2015, he worked as a research fellow at the T.M.C. Asser Institute. Between 2011 and 2015 he cooperated with the ICCT in and in that framework, he has worked as researcher and consultant on EU counter-terrorism law and policy. He has cooperated with CLEER since 2009. His publications include “The External Dimensions of the EU Area of Freedom, Security and justice: A constitutional perspective” (forthcoming, Springer Verlag) and “International organizations and the Area of Freedom, Security and Justice”.
