Profile

Anastasia Troshkova (b. 1993; Pskov, Russia).

Photography and video artist based in The Netherlands. Her practice centers on exploring the role of the individual in global social patterns and propaganda. Utilizing photography as a base medium, she uses a form of publication or combines it with video, and text to create pieces that investigate the complex interplay between personal identity, cultural background, and the socio-political forces that shape our lives.

Through her work, she strives to encourage viewers to engage critically with their experiences and perspectives by drawing attention to the ways in which we are shaped by larger systems of power and influence. Her works are often a personal reaction to urgent topics that impact her life.

By exploring these themes, she aims to spark meaningful conversations and raise questions that can be answered through critical thinking and empathy.
